Spirits Reach nominated for Power Smart award April 24 2009
Spirits Reach, located on the western shore of Columbia Lake and owned by Columere Park Developments Limited, has been named as a finalist in the Power Smart Excellence Awards, sponsored by BC Hydro.
Columere Park Developments is a finalist for the Builder/Developer of the Year Award. Every home in the first phase of Spirits Reach achieved a Power Smart Gold rating, and uses
Energy Star appliances and windows, geothermal space heating systems and preheating domestic hot water systems. Owners are expected to see direct energy cost savings of thousands of dollars annually, compared with traditional construction.

Lower Lakeview Road Water and Sewer Service Information Package April 2009
Residents of Lower Lakeview Road approached the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) for assistance with constructing and financing a community water and sewer system. The RDEK would borrow the funds required to install the infrastructure and levy an annual parcel tax on the properties in the service area to pay off the debt over 30 years. The RDEK would retain ownership of the infrastructure, and would enter into contracts for the construction and operation of the water and sewer systems with Windermere Water and Sewer Company (WWSC). Water and sewer services would be provided utilizing the Kinbasket Water and Sewer Company water supply and sewage disposal systems.

Regional district denies any planning for Grizzly Ridge indefinitely April 10/09
